The Danny Gans Theatre, an intimate 1,265-seat setting inside The Mirage, attracts some of today’s top entertainers.  In 2008, the line-up is star-studded with multiple appearances by Jay Leno, Kevin James, Ray Romano and Brad Garrett.

Jay Leno, host of the NBC talk show “The Tonight Show,” performs his hilarious stand-up comedy routine at the Danny Gans Theatre in 2008.  Leno’s comedic style and personality have earned him millions of fans worldwide. Tickets are $90 plus tax.  Performances are scheduled for May 16 – 17, July 11 – 12, July 25 – 26, August 22 – 23, September 26 – 27, October 10 – 11, October 17 – 18, November 21 – 22 and December 12 – 13 at 10 p.m.

Donny & Marie Reunite At MGM Grand
Show business legends Donny & Marie will reunite at MGM Grand’s Hollywood Theatre for eight unforgettable performances July 17 – 23, 2008. Show times are
8 p.m. July 17 and 21 – 23 and 8:30 p.m. July 18 – 20, with a 4 p.m. matinee July 19.

During this rare limited engagement (the first time the pair has played a Las Vegas run since 1979), Donny & Marie will perform their greatest hits on a custom stage designed specially for this historic reunion. Donny & Marie made television history when the seminal variety show “The Donny & Marie Show” debuted on ABC in 1976 --- they were the youngest hosts ever of a primetime network series.  This wildly successful show solidified their worldwide fan base still numbering in the millions.  After multiple solo successes, the duo teamed up once again in 1998, hosting the nationally syndicated daytime talk show “Donny & Marie.”

Beginning his illustrious career at the age of five on The Andy Williams Show performing with The Osmond Brothers, Donny has been awarded a grand total of 33 gold records.  His most recent album (his 55th), “Love Songs of the 70s” immediately went gold in the UK. His multi-faceted career includes being a national television host (“Pyramid”), a best-selling author (his autobiography debuted at #1 on the UK bestseller list) and the Theater (over 2,000 performances starring in Andrew Lloyd Weber’s “Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” and most recently on Broadway starring in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast”). “College Road Trip,” the Disney movie in which Donny co-stars with Raven Symone and Martin Lawrence, opens this March.  He has even been a champion race car driver.

Comedian Roseanne Barr Announces an Engagement
at the Sahara Hotel and Casino
Emmy award-winning comedian Roseanne Barr brings her everyday humor and observations to the Sahara Hotel and Casino. Barr will perform in the Sahara’s legendary Congo Room, a 520-capacity entertainment venue, with a 9:30 p.m. show time.

“Fresh out of rehab and ready to PARTY! Seriously though, I'm thrilled to be back in Las Vegas for another run and cannot wait to see you all at The Sahara,” said Barr.

As one of the most notable names in the comedic industry, Barr holds honors as one of the highest ranked comics, landing at #9 on Comedy Central’s list of 100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time.

Roseanne Barr will appear for one show nightly at 9:30 p.m., Saturday through Wednesday in the Congo Room of the Sahara Hotel and Casino. Ticket prices begin at $59.50 (inclusive of all taxes and fees); limited VIP and Golden Circle seats are also available.

Following a move to Los Angeles in 1983 to pursue stand-up comedy, Barr was extremely successful, landing her first television appearance on the Johnny Carson Show in 1985. Little did she know that, more than 20 years later, fate would bring her to the Sahara’s Congo Room, where Carson himself performed. A few years later, Barr began taping her namesake show, which launched her to household fame. The series ran for nine seasons, picking up four Emmys, two Golden Globes, six People’s Choice Awards and many other accolades.

The show propelled her career and soon Barr branched out to show the world that her talent extended beyond television comedy. Releasing two best-selling books, “Roseanne: My Life as a Woman” and “My Lives,” established Barr as an author; a run as the Wicked Witch of the West in a production of The Wizard of Oz showed Barr could handle the theatre-side of the industry, The Roseanne Show proved she had the power to connect with audiences in a talk show-style setting; and, Barr has now extended herself into children’s books and DVDs.

Robin Williams Returns To MGM Grand
For Memorial Day Weekend Performance
Robin Williams, one of the most gifted actors and comedians of our time, returns to the MGM Grand Garden Arena for a Memorial Day Weekend performance Sunday, May 25. The show is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.

Academy Award-winner and Grammy winner Robin Williams began his career as a stand-up comedian and has created a repertoire of indelible characters, first in the hit series “Mork & Mindy” and then in numerous film roles. In 1997, Williams received Academy and Screen Actors Guild awards for his performance in “Good Will Hunting,” having been previously nominated by the Academy for performances in “The Fisher King,” “Dead Poets Society,” and “Good Morning Vietnam.”  Williams’ many film roles include blockbuster comedies including “Mrs. Doubtfire,” “The Birdcage,” “Jumanji,” “Hook,” and “Night at the Museum”; darker roles in “Insomnia” and “One Hour Photo”; and the animated films “Aladdin,” “Robots,” and “Happy Feet.” He co-starred with Steve Martin on stage in “Waiting for Godot,” directed by Mike Nichols.  When he returned to stand-up after a 16-year absence, Williams starred in the 2002 HBO special “Live on Broadway,” which was nominated for five Emmy awards.

Offstage, Williams recently took his fourth trip to the Middle East with the USO to entertain the troops.  He also has been affiliated with Comic Relief since its inception in 1986.  To date, the overall efforts of that organization have raised more than $50 million.

“Friday Night Live” Poolside Music Series Returns for Second Season at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino
After a successful first season and a tremendous response from locals and music fans alike, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino brings back Friday Night Live.  Renowned for quickly becoming Vegas’ most popular early Friday night party destination, the series launches this summer with a hit performance by Puddle of Mudd on Friday, May 2 at 8 p.m.

Highlighting some of today’s hottest artists at the Hard Rock’s award-winning pool, Friday Night Live has become a necessity for Vegas tastemakers.  To hit it off, FNL presents Puddle of Mudd on May 2.  Puddle of Mudd is the American alternative rock group that’s sold well over seven million copies since the debut of their album titled Come Clean in 2001, spawning at least four radio hits including “Blurry” (2002), “She Hates Me” (2002), “Spin You Around” (2004) and “Psycho” (2007). Garnering a huge fan base from around the world, Puddle of Mudd’s songs are all at once optimistic yet uneasy, uplifting yet contemplative and dramatic but never without humor.  Their latest album Famous was released in late 2007.

“With the overwhelming success we saw with the launch of Friday Night Live last summer, we are excited to dive right into our second season,” said Paul Davis, vice president of entertainment at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.  “We have an incredible lineup secured, which is not only going to bring in concertgoers by the masses, but it will make for an unforgettable summer at the Hard Rock.”

For season two, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has locked in the talent of Bree Delano, also known as DJ 88, who will serve as the resident DJ for the FNL
series.  Originally from the Los Angeles Valley, Bree has made it big by performing in major markets including New York and Miami.  Bree currently resides in Sin City and has spun on the turntables for some of Vegas’ most recognized events.  Last summer, Bree worked the turntables during some of the hottest poolside concerts at the Hard Rock including De La Soul and Snoop Dogg.  Being a female in a male-dominated industry, Bree has proven her unique ability to keep the crowds entertained all night long.  Known for playing hot beats including vintage hip-hop, neo soul, classic R&B and rock, 80s hits and down tempo, Bree’s work continues to pay off as she now has a series of mix CD compilations and MP3s available for downloading. 

In addition to Puddle of Mudd, ten acts have been confirmed for FNL, with more to be announced soon keeping it fresh with an assorted mix of styles.  The lineup, includes the following shows:

The band of seven members known as Dropkick Murphys blends musical influences they grew up with including punk rock, Irish folk, rock and hard core, into one loud, raucous and often a mix they could only call their own.

A member of the celebrated Marley sibling group, The Melody Makers, and brother of the famed Bob Marley, Stephen Marley returns to the FNL stage. The Grammy winning producer, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has always been the driving force behind the music of his siblings, creating sexy, club-rocking tunes.  

OZOMATLI Friday, May 30TH at 9pm (Doors at 7pm)          
For more than 12 years, Ozomatli has collaborated music, toured everywhere from Denver to Tokyo to Sydney, supported anti-war mobilizations, global human rights movements and pioneered Spanish-English mash-ups of hip-hop, salsa, cumbia, dub and Middle Eastern funk.

PEPPER Friday, June 20TH at 9pm (Doors at 7pm)
The spirit of aloha is alive and well with the three young, innovative minds that make up the reggae-rock group, Pepper. With musical influences including Nirvana, Black Sabbath and Pantera, Pepper is recognized for their live performances and culminating rich, sincere relationships with fans.

SMASH MOUTH Friday, June 27TH at 9pm (Doors at 7pm)         
After more than 13 years together, Smash Mouth is as tight today as they were when they first started.  Collectively, the band has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide and have consistently impacted radio with their recognizable tracks including “Walkin’ on the Sun,” “Can’t Get Enough of You Baby” and “I’m a Believer.”

Returning to the FNL stage, Steel Pulse is the Grammy winning reggae band that’s remained close to their roots and have continued their commitment to fighting justice, educating the masses and promoting positive messages through their spiritually uplifting music.

RUSTED ROOT  Friday, July 11TH at 9pm (Doors at 7pm)          
The sextet from Pittsburgh, Rusted Root is a polyrhythmic, multicultural rock and soul band that’s always made it a conscious effort to not let anything interfere with the beautiful collaboration of music they are known for creating.  This is Rusted Root’s second time on the FNL stage.

DE LA SOUL Friday, July 18TH at 9pm (Doors at 7pm)
Best known for their eclectic sampling, quirky surreal lyrics and contributions to the jazz-rap subgenre, De La Soul returns to the FNL stage.  De La Soul possesses clever rhymes and goofy humor, drawing their musical influences from old school rap, pop, funk and soul.

JONNY LANG Friday, August 1ST at 9pm (Doors at 7pm)
Grammy-nominated and former prodigy instrumentalist Jonny Lang speaks often with his guitar in the language of deep blues and searing rock and roll.  Since the age of 15, he stands as a mature creative force whose music often reveals the hard times and chaos in his life that have toughened him up for future endeavors.

Kenny Chesney To Bring His 2008 Poets & Pirates Tour

Country music star Kenny Chesney will heat up the summer with his 2008 Poets & Pirates Tour.  The tour stops at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Friday, June 6 at 8 p.m.  Country sensation LeAnn Rimes is scheduled to open the show.

Tickets are priced at $97.50, $77.50 and $67.50, not including applicable service charges and taxes and are sold at the MGM Grand Garden Arena box office and at all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations (select Smith’s Food and Drug Centers, and Macy’s West at the Fashion Show Mall) or at Ticketmaster online .  Ticket sales are limited to eight (8) per person.
